The average speed broadband in Roscommon ranks 24th out of the 26 counties in the Republic of Ireland according to a new report by Switcher.ie, the independent price comparison website and switching service.

The survey, which is based on the average of a minimum 50 speed tests carried out on Switcher.ie between August 1st 2015 and July 31st 2016 shows that the average speed of broadband in Roscommon is 9.16Mbps (Mega Bits per Second).

As expected, Dublin is the county with the fastest average broadband speed, at 44.85Mbp while County Longford is the slowest average, with 7.25Mbps. The slowest area is Legan in Longford, with an average download speed of 1.98Mbps, and the fastest area is Drimnagh in Dublin 12, with an average download speed of 72.15Mbps. This means the fastest town is 36.44 times faster than slowest!

Roscommon’s best and worst

As mentioned above the Switcher.ie average speed results are based on a minimum of 50 speed tests. Roscommon Daily wants to find out what are the fastest and slowest broadband connection in the County.
