On Wednesday 6th of July last the U12’s took on Roscommon Gaels in Round 1 of the Championship. It was a very wet blustery evening. St. Dominic’s, without some key players, took on a very strong Roscommon Gaels side. Our lads struggled to get into the game in the first half and failed to make much of an impact on the scoreboard. At half time the management gave the St. Dominic’s boys a pep-talk and they came out fighting in the second half with some fine goals and points. All the boys played very well with Aidan Hoare taking some excellent points. The team gave the supporters a game to watch, unfortunately the deficit was too big to make up.
The U12’s play Round 2 on Monday 11th July when they play away to Athleague/Tremane. Throw-in at 7pm, all support welcome.
Training for U16s continues Tuesday at 8pm. In the U16 league we play Round 2 on 17th of July versus St.Marys (Carrick Hurling Club) at home, all support welcome.
