Sunday
Ladies Gaelic Football

The Roscommon Under 14 Ladies claimed the Connacht title with a comfortable win over Leitrim. Match Report and photos here.

The County Intermediate team must play Leitrim in a play-off next Sunday to determine which team will contest the Connacht Final against Sligo. All three teams finished level in the round-robin stage and following a draw Sligo received a bye to the Final.

Soccer

Castlerea Celtic edge closer to Roscommon and District Football League Premier Division title with a 1-0 win over Ballinasloe town. Read the match report here and a full round-up of the week’s games here

Boyle Celtic defeated Ballisodare 4-1 in the Radisson Cup (Sligo-Leitrim Super League) Semi-Final, thanks to Goals from Conor Deery, Aaron Calpin, Shane Battles and Mick Corrigan.

The Athlone Town Under 16s and Under 15s, featuring a number of players from Roscommon, won Dublin and District Schoolboy League titles today. The Under 16s defeated Castleknock Celtic 3-0 and the Under 15s defeated Cherry Orchard 2-1.

Pool

The Silver Eel, Grange, Strokestown are the 2015/16 Roscommon Pool League Champions following a tie-breaker win over An Bothar Rua, Elphin in the early hours of this morning. Both legs ended 4-3 to the visiting teams, which led to the play-off.

Saturday
Gaelic Football

The Hodson Bay Hotel Senior Championship and Mulryan Construction Intermediate Championship began this evening. Reigning Senior Champions Clann na nGael were beaten and Tulsk laid down a marker for the Intermediate title.

Rugby

Connacht have defeated Glasgow Warriors 14-7 and finish 2nd in the PRO12 Table. This means that they get a home Semi-Final against Glasgow Warriors (again) in two weeks time.
Elsewere, Leinster topped the Table, Glasgow finished third and Ulster finished fourth.
Munster finished sixth and qualified for next season’s European Challenge Cup

Hurling

The Roscommon Senior Hurlers are out of the Christy Ring Cup. The suffered a 1-7 to 1-14 defeat to Down in Ballycran. Match Report here
