Our round-up of the weekend’s action from the Roscommon Sports scene including Handball, Gaelic Games, Soccer, Camogie and Cycling.
Ladies Gaelic Football
The Roscommon Minor Ladies were defeated by Meath in the All-Ireland B Final on a scoreline of 3-1 to 4-9.
Hurling
The County Minor Hurlers also suffered defeated to Meath. Their Electric Ireland All-Ireland B Championship Quarter-Final ended 3-9 to 2-25. Daniel Glynn 1-7 (7 frees), Mickey Joe Egan 2-0; Connell Kennelly and Brendan Mulry (0-1 each) were the Roscommon scorers.
Cycling
Daire Feeley claimed the Mountains Jersey on Stage 1 and “Most Aggressive Rider” on Stage 3 of the Suir Valley Three Day event.
As a result of his performance he now tops the Cycling Ireland Senior Rankings.
Camogie
Roscommon were narrowly defeated by Kerry in the All-Ireland Under 16 C Championship by 2-10 4-6.
Soccer
The Roscommon and District Umbro Masters Football season came to an end yesterday with St Francis FC completing the League and Cup double. They defeated St Comans 4-2 on penalties after the sides drew 2-2 at the end of normal time.
In other news, Shiven Rovers from Newbridge Co. Galway, who play in the Roscommon and District League were selected as the FAI Aviva Club of the Year for 2016. More details here

It was a quiet week on the Club scene ahead of the restart of the Senior and Intermediate Championships next weekend. Catch up on all the results here.
Handball
Michael Egan won the County Minor 60×30 Final. He defeated his doubles partner Cathal O’Connor 21-10, 21-13.
