The rescheduled Axe Forestry Roscommon Ploughing Championships get under way at 12pm on the farm of James and Eleanor Coffey, Lecarrow.
Activities commence at 12pm with the official opening set to take place at 2pm. As usual there will be something for all the family, from Trade Stands and Sheep Dog trials to Bouncy Castles and a Tug O’War between teams from the two local pubs, Coffeys and Kellys.
One of the special events, which will mark 1916 commemorations, will be a re-enactment of how fields were ploughed 100 years ago.
The crew from “Roscommon Matters” on Irish TV will also be in attendance.
