Roscommon Gaels Social Night

Friday, April 1st in Carty’s Porterhouse function room, from 9.30pm. Annual Club awards, finger food and live music by Deckie Walsh & Kevin Noone. Voluntary contribution collected on the night at the door. Come on out and join your club colleagues for a good night out and support the club award recipients.

Easter Parade

A very big Thank You to all underage players who took part and braved the awful weather for the Easter parade. It was a great display of club colours which brightened up the town and the parade greatly. Thank you also to Anthony McCormack, all organisers and parents who helped out.

Ciúne Gaeilge

Maidin speisialta – An Scrudú Béil
Bhí maidin speisialta againn ar an seachtain seo cáite.
A scrudú béil preparation morning was held on Tuesday last in the Hyde Centre for Leaving Certificate students. 
Tá siúl againn gur bhain na daoine a ghlacadh páirt taitneamh agus taibhre as. 
Go raibh míle maith agaibh to those who helped to facilitate the course ; Ríona Mc Guinness , Emma Mc Stay, Carol Hoare , Teresa Hession, Aisling Mc Neill.

This was one initiative in the club to help promote the use of Gaeilge – Thank you to those who attended. 

Blood Donor Clinic

 
The Clinic visits Hyde Centre 6/7/8 April 5-8.30pm each day. All eligible members are encouraged to attend. Note: Change of venue.

Camogie

Camogie U-8 & U-10: U8 & U10 indoor training continues in the Convent Gym on Thursday evenings.
U8    6:30 – 7:10 pm
U10  7:10 – 8:00 pm
Hurleys will be provided for indoor sessions. But if you have your own hurley, bring it and put an old sock over the bás of it (protects the gym floor).
All Camogie players are required to wear helmets. In the past, we have provided old helmets but this is no longer possible as we cannot guarantee that these helmets meet the required safety standards. (We will have some old helmets on standby for beginners). However, we will be selling helmets in the Roscommon Gaels colours at cost price. Talk to the coaches for details.Please bring Helmet ,€2 per family and a drink. Membership Due Before End of March.
This is our last indoor session and we will be outdoors from Friday the 8th of April.
Time will be 6:30-7:30.

Camogie U14: Training continues outdoors in the Hyde on Tuesday @ 7pm.

Hurling

Senior Hurling: The senior hurlers lost the final of the Sean Keane Cup on Sunday. Training continues with time will be sent out.

County Hurling: Well done to Cillian Egan, Gearoid Egan and Chris Duignan who are part of the County Hurling Panel who had victory Monaghan in the League Final.

Ladies Football

U-12 Ladies Football
U12 ladies football training continues on Wednesday at 6:30-7:30 in the Hyde . All ladies are asked to bring runners and boots as we may train inside depending on weather conditions. See you all then.

U-16 Ladies Football:
Well done to our U16 ladies who have won their 2nd game in championship campaign on Friday last in lisnamult.  It was a game of 2 halves thanks to a very strong wind. We were missing a few girls due to holidays. The team were down at 1/2 time with Strokestown leading 2-6 to 1-3.  In the 2nd half the Gaels girls got off to a great start and used the wind to perfection coming out the victors after a hard fought game. Final score Ros Gaels 4-10  Strokestown 3-6.  
Training continues in the Hyde at 7.20pm sharp on Wednesday night. We play Kilbride away on Friday evening at 6.15pm.

Minor Football: Minor training continues this week on Wednesday evening. Details will be sent out.

U12 Boys Football

U12 Boys football continues Thursdays @ 7.15pm sharp. Water is essential.
Thank You to our Senior Football Management and Players – Johnny Conteh and Mark Nally – who provided a super Training Session for our U12 Footballers this week.

“25” Card Drive in the Hyde

“25” card playing in the Hyde continues on Monday nights. The regular clientele are enjoying the cards, the craic and the cuppa. It takes place every Monday night @8.30pm in the Hyde centre. There is a €5 entry with cash prize on the night. All are welcome.

Poor feedback to date so Club is asking again can Team Managers from our Hurling, Camogie, Football (Ladies & Mens) codes advise (by 01 April) the names of two coaches from their code who will represent their views within the Club Coaching Committee. Please contact John Donnellan (086-0402081).

B.  Upcoming Courses
Child Protection in Sport Awareness Course
There has been a lot of interest in this course so we are looking at having this Course within our club to facilitate those who could not sit the recent course. Update on timing of course next week.
