Roscommon Gaels Executive Meeting
The Club executive met on Wednesday night last and a number of items were discussed.
The club gear document and procedures were presented and approved. Paul Gleeson was especially thanked for his excellent work in this along with some assistance from Teresa Hession, Paulie Hoare, Brian McGarvey.
The was a suggestion by Aisling McNeill to promote the Irish language and this was very warmly welcomed. Details will follow in the coming week.
Sympathy was expressed for the passing of Mrs Hunt and of PJ Fallon. A minutes silence was held as a mark of respect.

Hurls For Sale
The Club has a number of hurls for sale. Prices are 20’ @ €5, 24’@€11, 26’@€12, 28’@€13, 30’@€14. Please contact Tom Killion or your team trainers.
Easter Parade
It is important that the Club are taking part in the Easter Parade this year. However a number of parents and club officials are required to help in this fun event for the children to make sure it is a safe day for all. Please give of your time and help. Anyone available can let the team trainers know.

CBS
CBS Roscommon are through to the All-Ireland Senior C Hurling Final following a 1-8 to 0-8 win over OLSP Belfast. The CBS will now face Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal, Blarney in the Masita GAA All-Ireland Post Primary Michael Cusack Cup Final on March 16th

Camogie U-8 & U-10
U8 & U10 indoor training continues in the Convent Gym on Thursday evenings.
U8 6:30 – 7:10 pm
U10 7:10 – 8:00 pm
Hurleys will be provided for indoor sessions. But if you have your own hurley, bring it and put an old sock over the bás of it (protects the gym floor).
All Camogie players are required to wear helmets. In the past, we have provided old helmets but this is no longer possible as we cannot guarantee that these helmets meet the required safety standards. (We will have some old helmets on standby for beginners). However, we will be selling helmets in the Roscommon Gaels colours at cost price. Talk to the coaches for details.
Please bring Helmet ,€2 per family and a drink.
Camogie U14
Feile championship 2016 starts this weekend when Roscommon Gaels take on Oran in the first round in lisnamult at 2pm on Saturday March 12th.Please come out to support the girls. Training continues on Tuesday at 7pm in the Hyde. Bring outdoor gear and weather permitting we will go outdoors. well done to all the girls for their good attendance at training this season, keep up the good work.
Convent Hold heads High in Defeat by A Single Point
The Convent of Mercy lost their All-Ireland Final by the most painful of margins. The score was 1.08 to 1.07. It was an incredibly brave effort by the entire squad and management of Teresa Hession and Edel Connolly could not be prouder of their players. Parents, mentors and Scoil Mhuire can be very proud of the girls. Their behaviour in defeat was exemplary.
There was lots of tears and heartache but camaraderie was special. Roscommon Gaels were represented by Fiona Tully, Jessica McDermott, Étain Hession, Colleen Kelly, Aoife Tully, Niamh Madden, Lisa Mullen, Niamh Tully, Swetha Ganesh, Rachel Corcoran, Róisín Coyle, Aife Feeley.
U14 Hurling Feile

Senior Hurling
The senior hurlers take on Oran next Sunday at 12 noon
Training continues on Wednesday at 7.30pm in Lisnamult.
County Hurling
Well done to Cillian Egan, Gearoid Egan and Chris Duignan who are part of the County Hurling Panel who had victory over Fingal on Sunday on a score line of 1.14 to 0.16. They travel to Birmaingham to take on Warwickshire next Saturday. Best of Luck to them all.
U-12 Ladies Football
U12 ladies football training continues on Wednesday at 6:30-7:30 in the Hyde . All ladies are asked to bring runners and boots as we may train inside depending on weather conditions. See you all then.
Ladies Football
Well done to our U16 ladies who played their first game in the championship on Sunday .They played Western Gaels away in a tough game the score was 2-5 to 2-4 .Training continues in the Hyde on Wednesday night at 7:20 pm .The second game is to be played next weekend v Strokestown at home.
Our junior panel start training this Wednesday at 8pm in the Hyde as their 9 aside competition starts next Sunday 13th March first game v Strokestown. Anyone interested over the age of 16 feel free to come to hyde.
Well done to our county senior ladies who won again this weekend .Good luck to the county minor team who play their first round in the championship the 13th of March v Mayo.

U 12 Boys football continues Thursdays @ 7.15pm sharp. Water is essential.

Training continues as usual. We take on Kilmore next on March 20th.
Roscommon Cruise to Victory
Congratulations to Cian Connolly, James McDermott and John McManus who represented Roscommon Gaels on the county team which cruised to victory over Down by 1-12 to 0-06. We travel to take on Donegal next Sunday.
Also congratulations to the managers Fergal and Kevin.
REFEREES WANTED
Roscommon GAA are in the process of recruiting personnel who are interested in taking up refereeing. If you are in full time work, seeking employment or still going to school or college this is an ideal way to earn extra money and make new friends while keeping yourself healthy and fit in the process. If you think you have what it takes to referee a senior county final, a Connacht final or indeed an All Ireland Senior Final, this is where the dream begins.

“25” Card Drive in the Hyde
“25” card playing in the Hyde continues on Monday nights. The regular clientèle are enjoying the cards, the craic and the cuppa. It takes place every Monday night at 8.30pm in the Hyde centre. There is a €5 entry with cash prize on the night. All are welcome.

Child Protection in Sport Awareness Course
Thanks to club members to attended the Child Protection in Sport Awareness Course last Wednesday evening. There has been a lot of interest in this course so we are looking at having this Course within our club. Progress update in the next week or two.
