December Meeting of Roscommon Camogie Board
The December meeting of the Roscommon Camogie County Board takes place on Tuesday night 13th December at 8.30 p.m. in Hannon’s Hotel, Roscommon.
The County Board are still waiting to fill three positions namely, Development Officer, P.R.O. and Treasurer. Nominations have been received for the position of Development Officer but no nominations have been received for the position of P.R.O. and Treasurer.
Nominations will be re sought again so hopefully these positions will be filled at the January Meeting.
Vacancies for County team Managers
Managers for all teams from Under 14 right up to Junior Level are being sought. Of immediate importance is the appointment of a Junior team Manager and a Minor team Manager as both these teams will be taking to fields in Mid February and plans need to be drawn up immediately.
Civic Reception for Minor Team
The Minor team who won the All Ireland Minor final in 2015 were feted on Friday last in the Arts Centre, Roscommon. Six members of the team were invited to attend on the day. Also in attendance was the Management team.
Connacht Camogie Awards
Officers of Connacht Camogie Council were on hand on Friday evening last at the Connacht Camogie Council Awards for 2016 when the Junior Player and Administrator Awards were won by Roscommon nominees namely Joanne Beattie as the Connacht Junior Player and Geraldine Beattie Greene as the Connacht Administrator for 2016.
Also on the evening the 1st tranche of the Bursary Awards were made to the 4 recipients, 2 from Galway, 1 from Mayo and 1 from Roscommon. The winner of the Award from Roscommon for 2016 is Éala Coyle a member of the Athleague Senior team. Éala will be carrying out tasks for the Club, County and Province throughout the year assisting with Under age teams, etc.
Attending the Camogie Awards on the evening also was the current Chairman of Connacht G.A.A. Council and Roscommon native, Michael Rock.
