Division 4 League Final: St Barrys 0-12 St Ronans 0-5
St Barrys beat St Ronan’s in the final of the Division 4 League with a comfortable enough win this evening. With both teams promoted already, the game lacked real intensity. An early Philip Casserly score gave St Barry’s a lead that they never relinquished, and with the defence well on top, led by 7-2 at half time. Early scores from Finbar and James Bennett Jnr gave the lads a good start to the second half, and although Ronan’s never gave up, St Barry’s never looked in danger and ran out comfortable 7 point winners in the end.
After a tough 2015, this year was always about rebuilding and getting up out of this division. The squad achieved promotion, comfortably maintained their Intermediate Championship starts, and this evening won the first silverware at Adult Mens level since the Junior Championship in 2007. Well done to all involved.

Good luck to Damian Wallace, who takes charge of the Intermediate Championship final replay on Sunday next. Damian has established himself as one of the best up-and-coming referees on the circuit over the last few years, so we’re sure all will be kept under control on Sunday.
