Play for Paul Charity Match:

A Charity match is been held in honour of the late Paul Higgins who passed away on the 19th April last after along battle with illness. The charity match is been held on the 4th June 2017 in Western Gaels Pitch, Frenchpark, Roscommon. The match will have selected members of Over 30’s and Under 30’s lads on the day, under age team playing at half time and also entertainment for all the family on the day. Proceeds in aid of Mater Misericordiae Oncology Ward. A follow up after-party and monster raffle (tickets sold in local shops and also on the day) will be held in The Chariot Bar in Frenchpark starting approx 9pm. Please save the date and your support would be greatly appreciated for this very worthy cause.

Western Gaels Summer Camp:

The club’s Multi Activity sports camp takes place from Monday 17th July-Friday 21st July next at the club grounds in Frenchpark. Following on from last years brilliantly organised camp the aim for this year is to be even better with more fun activities added to the daily list. Bookings are been taken now so please ensure you get your kids names on the confirmed list. To book please contact Dermot on 087 0536440.
Prices are as follows: 1 Child = €55/week; 2 Children = €85/week; 3 Children = €110/week or €20 per child per day attended.

Men’s Football:

Senior Team:
The Devine and Co Chartered Accountants sponsored Senior team recorded another win against Tulsk in the Div 1 league on Sunday afternoon last in Frenchpark. We were in control for much of the game and led by double scores at half time 0-08 to 0-04. Despite playing against the wind in the 2nd half the lads kept the scoreboard ticking over with some really well taken scores from Tommy Gill, Sean Conry and James McDonell and the game was game was over as contest with over 8 mins remaining when Cathal Cregg rounded off a great team move to hammer the ball to the net to give himself a personal tally of 1-05. Final Scoreline: Western Gaels 1-19 Tulsk 0-08.

Intermediate Team:
The Intermediate team suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of St.Faithelachs in Ballyleaague on Saturday evening last. Final scoreline: Western Gaels B 1-02 St.Faithleachs 1-15. The team commence their Junior A Championship campaign on sunday afternoon next when we face Kilglass Gaels in Enfield at 3.45pm. Best of luck to the team and management for the year ahead.

U-12 Boys Team:
The Pat Lavin & Son sponsored u-12 teams had a busy but productive Sunday evening in Frenchpark The division 2 team played Elphin/Ballinameen the team trailed at the break but a strong second half performance for the team ensured the win on a final score of Western Gaels 7, Elphin /Ballinameen 4. Next up it was the turn of the division 6 team to take on St. Ronan’s. This was a very tight and close game. St. Ronan’s had the better of the opening half and lead at the break. Western Gaels fought back in the final quarter and managed to hold on for a one point win. Final score Western Gaels 10, St. Ronans 9. Both teams are back in action later this week, check fixtures for confirmed details.

U-12 Girls Team:
The U-12 girls lost to Roscommon Gaels in the latest round of the championship, they play Ballinameen on Thursday evening next in Frenchpark. Check fixtures for confirmed details.
