Senator Maura Hopkins has said that “it is extremely good news that refurbishment works on the Ballaghaderreen Garda Barracks are taking place.
Speaking yesterday the Senator said “I have been informed by An Tanaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality, Frances Fitzgerald that the works will be completed at the end of June. These works include a refurbishment of the public office and foyer and other ground floor accommodation including the installation of security and safety measures. The works have been required for many years in order to modernise the building. These works are being progressed by the Garda authorities in close cooperation with the Office of Public Works”.
Senator Maura Hopkins went on to say “Currently, there is Portacabin / temporary accommodation in-situ outside the Barracks while the works are underway. The facility when completed will help Gardai to carry out their work with maximum efficiency on behalf of the public.”
