Donie Shine Senior RIP
A dark cloud hung over the Clann na nGael community this past weekend with news of the passing of Donie Shine Senior. The club passes our deepest sympathy to Donal’s wife Lil, his daughters Karen, Clodagh and Susie, his sons Mark and Donal Junior, his brothers Enda, Michael and Paddy, his extended family, neighbours and wide circle of friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
The Clubs tribute to Donie can be read here.

GAA Cúl Camp at Clann na nGael
Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps provide boys and girls – between the ages of 6 and 13 – with an action-packed and fun-filled week of activity during the summer holidays which revolves around maximising enjoyment and sustaining participant involvement in Gaelic Games.
The Cúl Camp will take place in Johnstown from Monday 3rd July until Friday 7th July.
Online booking is preferred to ensure child will get the training gear and backpack on the week of the camp. Cost for the first child is €60 with discounts for additional children included. The cost is great value for money, given the gear that will be provided. These camps are hugely successful for the GAA throughout the country and we hope there will be a very large turnout in Johnstown!

U.14 Division 1 Team: Clann na nGael 5-14 Boyle 1-6
There was a convincing win for the Division 1 team in Johnstown, even if the scoreline was a little surprising. Boyle have a strong underage development, and did well in other matches in the league. No doubt they’ll be back in force during the championship.
With the aid of a strong breeze, Clann opened up the scoring from the start, and had registered 2-9 by half time without a response. Plenty of good play between the midfield and forwards, with no fewer than 5 different players getting their names on the scoresheet in this half, with good consistent play throughout.
The second half afforded the home side to play the remainder of the panel, but with high quality substitutions, the scores continued to rack up, and from new sources, including the subs. Boyle did have a brief purple patch in the middle of the half, scoring 1-2 in the space of 5 minutes. Clann replied though, and finished out as strongly as they started, to win the game outright by a 20 point margin.
Next, Clann face Pearses in the last round of the Division One league, and will head out to Woodmount this coming Tuesday 02/05, for a 7pm throw in. The lads are guaranteed a playoff at least, and a favourable result next match may even see them to the Final. Roll on next week!
Panel – D. Campion, O Hynes, A McManus, B Costello, L Gavin, I Harney (0-1), T Lennon, J Mulvey, C O’Reilly (1-0), S Cleary, G Mulvihill (1-2), A Milton, C Ryan (0-2), J Shine (2-5), J Gavin (0-1), K Greasley, S O’Connor (1-0), T O’Neill (0-2), E Henry, P O’Leochain (0-1)
