Double All-Ireland winner confirmed for Clann na nGael Dinner Dance

We are delighted to welcome Pádraic Joyce – winner of 6 Connacht titles, 2 All-Ireland titles, 3 All-Stars awards and the 2001 Footballer of the Year – as our special guest for the Annual Dinner Dance which takes place on Saturday 28th January in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel.
There will be dinner, a band with live music for all ages and presentations on the night. Tickets – €20 – are available from Club Executives and usual outlets – or call PJ on 086 8758483.

Coaching Courses

A Foundation level coaching course will take place in Ballyforan (St. Aidans) on:
Friday 3rd February at 7pm – 10pm (Theory)
Saturday 4th February at 10am – 1.30pm (Practical)
and
Wednesday 8th February at 7pm – 10pm (Code of Ethics).

Anybody wishing to attend this course please contact Coaching Officer Declan O’Flaherty on 0868040692 to book a place immediately. There will be one more course the following week in Strokestown and that will be the last Football foundation course for 2017.
It is essential that ALL coaches involved with all Clann teams from under 6 up have completed a Foundation Level and Code of Ethics course. If we have sufficient numbers in our club (approx. 15) wishing to do these courses, we can also arrange one in Johnstown.

Ladies Referee Training

Grab your Whistle Level 1 course will be on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th February in Hannons Hotel, Roscommon. Grab your Whistle Go Games will be held on the 25th February.
Note: You do not have to have completed the Grab your Whistle to do the Level 1 course. Course participants must be over 17 years.
Registration 9.30 am to 9.45 am. No fee. Course consists of 2 x 6 hour day and one two hour evening.

These courses have been organised as a result of feedback at Ladies County board meeting where delegates requested that more people are trained as referees.
