The Roscommon Football Legends book, which pays tribute to the Roscommon Senior Football Teams of 1977-80, is being launched this weekend at three venues throughout County Roscommon.
The book, in association with Pieta House, is jam-packed with interviews and reflections plus 170 images from that time.
Despite the disappointment of losing the 1980 All-Ireland Final, Roscommon supporters were treated to four great years as they watched that 1977-80 team win four Connacht titles in a row and National League honours in 1979. The team was also full of household names, not least the late Dermot Earley.
Former Roscommon player Seamus Hayden is launching the book this Friday, December 9th in Hannon’s Hotel, Roscommon town at 8pm. On Saturday night at 8pm in the Hodson Bay Hotel, former All-Ireland winning Galway manager John O’Mahony will launch the book.
On Sunday night in Kilronan Castle at 6pm, former Kildare star Dermot Earley Jnr is launching the Roscommon Football Legends publication.
Everyone is very welcome to attend the launches and full details are available on the Roscommon Football Legends Facebook page.
