Clann na nGael
An Evening for Coaches

Clann na nGael are holding an event for our coaches on Friday 18th November from 8:30pm to 10pm in the Athlone Springs Hotel. The idea of the evening is to acknowledge and thank the very large number of volunteer coaches and mentors in our club. The evening will allow coaches and mentors come together in a relaxed, social setting, to exchange ideas, discuss battles lost and victories won or just to meet other coaches at all levels of the club.

All Coaches of all teams from under 6 to adult, boys and girls, male and female are invited to attend. On the evening we will also launch our “Player Development Pathway” document.
So if you already involved with a team, or would like to do so, or indeed if you just have an interest in coaching matters within the club, then please come along and feel free to invite others. Finger food and refreshments will be served on the night.

Coaches 2017

Clann na nGael are actively seeking to recruit coaches at all levels in our club from under 6 to under 20.
If you would like to become involved or wish to nominate somebody else to do so, please contact any member of the club executive or email [email protected] .

AED Defibrillator training course

Clann na nGael’s Health and Wellbeing officer Sharon McManus Cooley launched the first of the Club’s Defibrillator training courses which took place in Johnstown clubhouse last Tuesday evening. This was a fully accredited course and a total of 12 people from the Clann area took part. It was a very well run course which took two and a half hours and we will be running more courses as required over the winter months.
There was no cost to do this course as Clann na nGael covered trainer expenses. The course is highly recommended for members of the Clann na nGael community.

If you are interested in this training course please contact our Health & Wellbeing officer Sharon McManus-Cooley on 087 2317635 with your name & contact details or Gerry O’Connor on 085 7208485.
