Councillor Domnick Connolly has congratulated Roscommon County Council on the “excellent flood relief work” that they are carrying out throughout the county.
Speaking earlier Domnick Connolly said “I fully realise that much more work needs to be done on flood defences, but with limited resources the council have done a top class job which has been commented on favourably by local people. This essential work was badly needed and it gives local communities some peace of mind as we prepare to face another winter The dry weather in October has been very welcome and we are hoping that we have a reasonable winter without the torrential rain that we witnessed last year. However flooding has become such a huge problem not only in Roscommon but throughout the country, that one can never predict what will happen in any given winter” the Independent Councillor concluded.
