Jobs Roscommon news

Successful businesses from across Roscommon, Cavan, Leitrim and Longford supported by their four local authorities, Bord Na Móna and the ESB will be in Croke Park on Thursday November 3rd to showcase their region.

At the event businesses will recruit staff, tell their story and share their experiences of an area that is fast becoming a top destination for investment. The expo will bring together a wide cross section of industry, local authorities and jobseekers.

Drumlion man Philip Martin, founder and CEO of Cora Systems set up his business in Carrick on Shannon, County Leitrim in 1999. The company now employs over 50 people and sells its software from its Leitrim base into US, Chinese and Australian markets. He stressed the importance of business to a community and also highlighted the importance of the access to a talented workforce, the modern infrastructure, high quality of life and the expansion opportunities that Cora Systems and their employees have experienced:
“This region has so much to offer business. We have found that people want to work with business and are eager to help it develop. There is access to a well educated and varied workforce that is committed and determined. In a region like this a business is part of the community and the landscape and that should be an important feature for any investor. We are delighted to be able to tell our story at #invest4success and demonstrate the benefits we have experienced.”

The Invest4Success expo will also focus on, and highlight, the calibre of jobs on offer, and the real life reasons that allow companies flourish in the area.

Focusing on bringing the diaspora home from around the world to their native region, Martin Dowd, Marketing and Business Development Director with Finesse Medical in Longford, gave his reasons as to why those who left in the last number of years have a real reason to return, to live and contribute in their home counties, and highlighted the genuine career progression opportunities that come with this region:
“This is a growing region. Employees value a better quality of life, access to the best of schools, strong communities and affordable housing. The jobs on offer are of a high quality with significant career opportunities. There is much to look forward to and we want to welcome people back to the region with offers of firm and stable employment. Being part of Invest4Success allows us to reach out to a wider audience and show them just what we have to offer. We want to attract and retain the best staff and this provides the perfect launching pad.”

The Shannon Erne region is already recognised as an ideal location for corporate team building events, group tours or family holidays in this vibrant region. The diverse range of local SME’s recruiting on the 3rd of November in Croke Park demonstrates the opportunities for skilled and talented people to work in these four counties. November 3rd marks a major step in providing recognition that this region is ready for further development.

This is a free event where everybody is welcome and the public is urged to come along to network and discover more. Further information from Sheena O’Dowd on 071 9620005 or [email protected] or from their Facebook page.
