Four Roads Ladies Football update October 12

Four Roads Ladies Football
Four Roads 5-4 Roscommon Gaels 1-5

The club are now finished in all competitions for 2016, and what a fitting way to finish off the year by winning the Division 2A U14 Championship, sponsored by Lawlor and Hynes Construction. After many evenings training and having played a number of games to get to this stage, 60 minutes separated the girls from raising the trophy. It was a tight game with nothing between either team. The game was played in great conditions and on a perfect pitch. The played moved up and down the pitch, with great fielding by both teams, great displays of football and scoring.

Thanks to the mentors Mary Grehan, Aidan Heneghan, Valerie Hynes and Eamon Corrigan. To the parents, grandparents, family members and supporters who turned out to cheer on the girls and for organising the party back in the centre afterwards. Thanks to the county board for running off the competition and to Ballyleague for their great facilities. Finally a big thank you to the girls, who turned up every night for training, for going to the matches and for being a credit to their families and to the club.
