Kilbride Ladies are County Champions!

September 17th 2016 will live long in the memory of the Kilbride players and supporters following their historic victory over St. Brigids in what was their first ever appearance in a Senior Championship Final. There were marvellous scenes at the final whistle when they players realised they had just been crowned Senior County Champions. The huge crowd of supporters made their way onto the pitch and tears of joy flowed , hugs and handshakes were exchanged as a sea of green and white descended onto the pitch . Johnny Cox (Joint chair of fixtures committee) firstly presented player of the match to Siobhan Tully before presenting the Gerry O Malley cup to our wonderful captain Aoife Feely. The team celebrated into the early hours of Sunday morning. A tour of the parish took place on Sunday afternoon and once again our supporters were out in force at various locations en route with flags flying and bonfires blazing. No doubt the celebrations will continue for many more weeks .

The club would like to compliment Roscommon Ladies Board and the St. Dominics club for their excellent organisation of the County finals on Saturday . It was a wonderful day for Ladies Football in the County so thanks to all who were involved in the organisation of same.
