U16’s Bow out: St Barrys/Kilglass 4-9 Western Gaels 4-12
The St Barrys/Kilglass U16 Boys bowed out of the D4 U16 Championship at the hand of of a better balanced Western Gaels team in Boyle. This was a game that swung to and fro, with the Gaels opening up leads and the Barrys/Kilglass lads closing the leads down again. Gaels led by 5 after 15 minutes, but 2 goals leveled things up, before Gaels opened up a 7 point lead at halftime aided by a penalty. The pattern continued through the second half, but while St Barrys/Kilglass, driven on by Diffley and Leavey in the middle, could get even the second half, they couldn’t get a lead score. Another Kidd goal and a point from Cian Locke closed the lead to 3 on the hour, but time ran out
