Community groups in Arigna, Ballyfarnon and Keadue are being encouraged to apply to the Wind Farm Community Fund.

The fund is available to community and voluntary organisations for projects which are based with in a given distance of that particular wind farm. The particular Wind Farms in this instance are Black Banks, Carrane Hill, Garvagh Glebe and Tullynahaw, Arigna which are all located either side of the Roscommon-Leitrim border. The scheme is funded by ESB Networks and administered by SECAD – South and East Cork Area Development. It funds projects / activities which clearly benefit at least one of the following categories:
– Sports and Recreation
– Health and Wellbeing
– Environment and Conservation
– Culture and Heritage
– Education
– Children and Young People
– Older People
The Wind Farm Community Fund is available as a bursary for once-off expenditure such as the purchase of equipment, building or refurbishment work.
