Justin Campbell has informed the Roscommon Hurling Committee of his intention not to seek another term as Senior and Under 21 Hurling Manager.

The Kiltormer native was appointed Roscommon Hurling Manager in December 2013. He led the county to Nicky Rackard Cup, Allianz League Division 3A and Connacht Intermediate titles as well as a number of finals. He also led the Under 21s to the All-Ireland B Final.

A spokesperson for the Roscommon Hurling Committee thanked Justin Campbell and his Management Team for their efforts and wished them the best of luck for the future. A Committee to appoint his successor will be formed shortly.

The Roscommon Hurling Committee will be keen to make an appointment sooner rather than later. The Senior Championship is drawing to a close and the Losers Group Final between Athleague and Padraig Pearses takes place in Athleague this Saturday at 5pm. It will be followed at 6:30pm by the first Semi-Final between Roscommon Gaels and Oran. The second Semi-Final, between Four Roads and Athleague OR Padraig Pearses takes place on Saturday September 10th in Athleague.
