18 Hole Stableford

Frank McGrath won the 18 hole Stableford competition played on Sunday 26 June with 35 points, 34 points was second and third which went to the Roche brothers Niall second thanks to a better B9 and Paul third, Sean Bohan won the gross, the Barber was 4th also with 34, double bogey on the 14th costing him the winners cheque.

Inter Club Results and Fixtures

The All Ireland 4Ball aka The Cecil Ewing team are through to Connacht Final V Ballinasloe on this weekend of 9 July with first leg in Carrick at 4pm. Come out and support Sean Gilmartin’s charges for this home leg, return leg in Ballinasloe on Sat 23 July.

Also this Saturday we have North Zone Junior Cup qualifier in Carrick with 17 teams (including Carrick, captained by Albert Hogg) from North Connacht competing for a place in Connacht Semi-final in Ballinrobe in August.

On 14th July we play County Sligo in Jack O’Sullivan, David McDermott is captain, with Albert Hogg as always vice captain!

Other Fixtures

Between the Inter Club action on Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th we have the PGA Qualifier off Green tees. Play Saturday or Sunday.

On Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th July we have New Ireland Assurance Stableford.

Damien Duignan’s Captains Prize takes place on weekend of 29 – 31 July, 27 holes stroke, make sure you have three cards in before that weekend.

With Sympathy

Carrick Golf Club extended it sympathy again this week to the McGoldrick family on the death of Paddy, who passed away minutes before Josie’s funeral mass on Monday 27 June. May they rest in peace.

Carrick Golf Club British Open Challenge

Following on from the success of The Masters Challenge in April we are running a British Open Challenge for the Open Championship starting on Thursday 14th July 2016 in Royal Troon Scotland. Same drill as the Masters Challenge simply pick 6 players from the list on the ticket, those 6 players cumulative total over the 4 days will be your score for the British Open Challenge, obviously the lowest score wins first prize of €500, with second place picking up €300 & €200 for third. A line or team costs €10 or 5 teams for €40. Tickets available from any club Member.
