Elphin-Ballinameen Team claim first title

Pride of place goes this week goes to the Elphin-Ballinameen U12s who secured the Division Two Shield with a 1-9 to 1-8 victory over Oran. This was the first silverware won by the new combination and will hopefully be the first of many. Captain Evan Murray collected the Shield and as usual played an outstanding game. He was ably assisted by Darragh Gilligan, Colin McGrath, Adam Twocock, Sam & Jude O’Rourke, Daniel Christie, Evan Gunn, Henry Dowd, Dylan Scott, Michael Sharkey – who came off bench to score Crucial goal, as well as John Finnerty who scored 0-7. It was a real Team effort with entire panel playing their part; including Ellie Brady, Dylan Butler, James Brennan, Darragh Callaghan and Adam Dwyer who gave it their all. Many thanks to all the players and management team, those who orgainsed the homecoming and bought refreshments.
A special word of thanks to Colm Finnerty who’s enthusiasm, energy, encouragement and vibrancy rubs of on his team everyday. His personal texts to parents, encouraging and praising the players, which mean a lot to all involved. A sincere thank you to Colm on behalf of the Club.
