A round-up of the weekend’s action from the Roscommon Sports scene including Camogie and Soccer Match Reports Soccer, Hurling, Gaelic Football and Ladies Results and much more.

Soccer

Castlerea Celtic completed the Roscommon and District Football League Premier Division and Cup Double. They defeated Ballymoe 1-0 via a Peter Farrell goal. Read Vincent Brooks’ Report here.

Elsewhere, Ahascragh United defeated Dysart 5-4 on penalties in the Premier Division/Division 1 Promotion Relegation Play-off. The game had ended 3-3.

In the Umbro Masters League Skyvalley Rovers defeated Glen Celtic 2-0, St Francis defeated Dunmore Town 3-0 and St Comans defeated Shiven Rovers 2-0.

Hurling

The Roscommon Under 17s were defeated by Laois in the Celtic Challenge Quarter-Final on a scoreline of 3-11 to 2-17. The second phase of the competition, which will match teams based on their phase one placing, will begin in a few weeks.

Camogie

The Roscommon Junior Team suffered a 0-10 to 3-11 defeat to the Galway Intermediate team in the Connacht Final on Friday night. Read Marie O’Brien’s Report here

Gaelic Games

There were wins for Oran B and Elphin B 1-20 in the Junior B Football Championship on Friday night and Clann na nGael C received a walkover.
Earlier this evening Kilmore-Shannon Gaels Under 14s defeated St Aidans by 4-16 to 4-10 after Extra Time in the Division 2 League Final. The full set of results from the weekend to date can be found here

Ladies Gaelic Football

There was action on the Club Scene over the weekend here are the results.

Cycling

There was disappointment for Roscommon Cyclist Daire Feeley who was involved in a crash at the Philadelphia International Cycling Classic. He got back on his bike and tried to continue but was listed as a non finisher.

Rugby

Danny Qualter has renewed his contract with Connacht Rugby for another season. Full details of that and three other renewals here.
