The race committee are constantly looking to improve the racing experience for punters and upgrading facilities. The build up to the start of the new season was no different this year with more development works completed. A new Tote building has been erected for patrons.

Pictured above is the Cleary family and friends celebrating after a great victory on August 17th last year. It was a particularly poignant moment when father Tommy and his son Rory won the race named after Rory’s late brother, jockey Sean Cleary, who passed away in 2003. It was a sweet victory for the Cleary’s to land the Sean Cleary Memorial Handicap at Roscommon with 9/1 shot Greanta, running for the first time for the Cleary yard. The filly ran in the colours of the Cleary’s neighbour, James Derwin.

Racing followers will be hoping there will be plenty of memorable moments at the Roscommon Races in 2016.
