Four Roads Gaelic4Girls

The Gaelic4Girls programme continues this Thursday in the Community Sports Park from 6.45pm. The programme got off to a great start with large numbers attending .One of the main aims is that each child has fun and gets an introduction to football in a non-competitive environment. There will also be an opportunity to attend a mini blitz. It’s a great way to make new friends and learn a new sport. Thanks to all the Club mentors involved. Consent forms are required and are available for signing at each session. Total cost €8 (includes t-shirt). Gum shields advised. For more information contact Valerie (087)7584353.

Results and Fixtures

U-12 – Our U12 team travelled to Knockcrockery on Sunday last where they played an entertaining game of football against St Dominics. They are now down to play Clann na nGael in the next round of the league – TBC.

U-16 – The girls played Roscommon Gaels on Sunday last in the semi final of the championship. There was great play from both sides with neither wanting to lose, and the game was end to end. Our girls emerged victorious ona scoreline of 8:9 to 4:8, and are now through to pay Castlerea in the final – details to follow.Training continues on Wednesday at 8:00 at pitch.

Junior ladies – Training continues on Friday at 8:00 in the pitch.

Four Roads Membership

Registration is due at the moment please contact either the manager of the team or one of the committee to pay – you need to be registered to play and train.

County Players

Hard luck to Oonagh Kelly and Aoife Campbell and the rest of the county U14 Football team who lost to Galway on Friday last in Ballyforan. The girls next game is away to Sligo on Friday evening.

Hard luck to Maria Lohan and the County U16 Football team who played Galway on Wednesday evening last in the first round of the championship. The girls are due to play Mayo on Wednesday in Mayo.

Good luck to the Minor County Camoige team who will play Downn in the All-Ireland Final next weekend.
