Clann na nGael GAA News update April 11th

Clann na nGael
Under 12 Leagues commence

Our u12s got their season up and running with very creditable performances in the Walsh cup last Wednesday evening with both teams winning away to Tubberclaire. This was followed by two league games for our Div 1 and Div 4 teams against Padraig Pearses and St Barrys in Johnstown on Friday evening. The div 1 team secured a solid victory 6-5 to 2-1. Our div 4 team put in a huge effort, but lost out on a scoreline of 3-6 to 4-8 against a strong and well coached St Barry’s team. Unfortunately our Div 6 team could not play their game on Saturday as the other team could not field.
All in all a very encouraging start by the boys, who are all eager to improve their skills of the game as is evident from the large numbers in attendance at the Easter camp and training sessions.

Éire Óg 3-4 Clann na nGael 3-21

The u16’s ladies played their championship match against Eire Og away on Saturday evening 9th April throw in 6:30pm. Mike Kenny Car Sales sponsors u16’s ladies. Another great win for the u16’s clan girls. A very entertaining game was played. Two injuries in the first half of the game used up our sub bench. Second half injury lead to a 14 player game. The girls gave it their all. Excellent scoring and defence was evident throughout the game. Well done to all the girls.
