Roscommon people are being encouraged to apply for the 50 apprentice roles with eir ahead of next week’s deadline for on-line applications; up to midnight on Friday, 15th April.
Now in its second year, the programme is open to candidates who have passed their Leaving Certificate and who would enjoy the challenge of working for a market leading Irish company on the rollout of a high speed national fibre network.
The first wave of successful candidates will start work from July with the second wave starting in September. The training programme will run for two years.
The structured two-year programme will provide on-the-job learning, one-to-one coaching and formal classroom training. Successful applicants will also receive a Level 6 FETAC Telecommunications Access Networks Technology Major Award. eir will be working with Solas on the ongoing expansion of this programme – which is scheduled to continue in 2017, and beyond.
