Boxing, Golf, Gaelic Football, Rugby and Soccer are just some of the items in this weekend’s Roscommon Sport preview.

Today, the action begins in the Boxing Ring as Dylan Towey of Ballaghderreen BC takes on David Doyle of Thurles BC 48kg Class of the Boys 2 National Boxing Finals. This afternoon Ethan Sharkey of Castlerea BC takes on Steve Cairns of Loughmahon BC in the 44kg Class of the Boys 3 National Boxing Finals.

The Final Round of the Spring League 4 man Scramble begins at Carrick Golf Club today and is open until Friday.

At 1:30pm the Roscommon Minor Footballers take on Galway in the Connacht League at Tuam Stadium.

At 2:30pm Buccaneers face Old Wesley in a showdown for the final promotion play-off berth in a hugely anticipated Ulster Bank Rugby League Division 1B match at Dubarry Park. Read the match preview here

There’s just one Club Football game today – Western Gaels B host St Brigid’s B in the Adult Football League 3 at 3:30pm.

At 6pm the Roscommon Under 21 Footballers will aim to win a third consecutive EirGrid Connacht GAA Under 21 Football Championship title in a row when they take on Mayo in Markievicz Park.

On Sunday

There’s an early start to the action with games in Divisions 4, 5 and 6 of the Adult Football Leagues at 11am. Click here for details.

At Boyle Golf Club the 1st Round of the Golfer of The Year competition begins with an 18 Hole Stableford.

In the Roscommon and District Football League there are two 11am starts with the remaining games at 2pm and in the Connacht Junior Cup Ballaghaderreen FC host Ballinasloe Town in an all-RDFL tie at 2pm.Click here for full details.

Also at 2pm the Roscommon Senior Footballers host Dublin in the Allianz Football League at Dr Hyde Park. Read the team announcement here. The team announced on Thursday night shows six changes from the defeat to Mayo. A reminder that Adult Tickets purchased before Sunday will cost just €10 and are available from all SuperValu stores in the county and Centra Stores in Roscommon and Strokestown.
