eir have confirmed 2,040 homes and businesses in Roscommon are among the 100,000 locations that will benefit from the first stage of their rural fibre broadband roll-out during the next 12 months.
A breakdown of the numbers of homes and businesses in Roscommon that will benefit from this phase of the roll-out are as follows:

Preparation work is already under way in some areas with tree trimming now complete in a number of locations, clearing the way for spans of new fibre cables to be installed alongside the existing roadside telecommunications infrastructure.
Four Roads and Taughmaconnell are among the other areas which are set to benefit in future phases of the Rural Fibre Broadband scheme, which will deliver speeds of up to 1,000Mbs.
