Roscommon Students win big at Texaco Childrens Art Competition

Texaco Childrens Art Competition

Three Roscommon students have won top prizes in this year’s 63rd Texaco Childrens Art Competition.

In the 9-11 years age category, second prize (€200 Art & Hobby gift voucher) went to Rachel Glynn (11), from Scoil Bhríde, Four Mile House, for her work entitled ‘My Grandad’.

Third prize (€150 Art & Hobby gift voucher) in the 9-11 years age category went to Ruth Donoghue (11), from Tarmonbarry, for her work entitled ‘Tiger Lily’.

Another winner from Roscommon, who will receive a Special Merit Award, is Tia Fox (17), from Roscommon Community College, Lisnamult.

Prizes will be presented at an awards ceremony in Dublin next month when all of the 126 top prize-winners will be in attendance.
