Ros Go Run 2016 on the starting blocks

Ros Go Run
The third annual Ros Go Run takes place on Sunday, September 4th in Loughglynn with runners from across Ireland raising funds for three organisations, MS Ireland, Éire Óg GAA and Lisacul Community Development.

Starting from Éire Óg’s Club House, runners have a choice of two Athletics Ireland certified routes: a ten kilometre run around Lough Glynn and a half marathon route that brings runners through Loughglynn village, up to Lisacul before running down through Brenamore, Cloontowart, Creevy and Feigh and back to Éire Óg’s Club House.

Elizabeth Care, the newest member of the committee said “What I like best about Ros Go Run is the way it combines complete professionalism in organising the race, with an open, inclusive and community feel. We’ve spent as much time making sure the routes work as we have making sure the community is kept aware of progress though our website (rosgorun.wordpress.com), twitter and facebook accounts.”

Two members of the committee – Damien Fitzgerald and Joan Coleman – will be taking part in Ros Go Run this year, while others will be walking the 10k route – once the runners are clear of the start. Runners can register in person on the day, or on line through Event Gen.

It’ll be cooler than Rio, that’s for sure!
