Stylist and presenter Marietta Doran will be the celebrity judge at the SuperValu Ladies Day at Roscommon Racecourse on Monday, July 4th.
For the second year in a row, six SuperValu shops in the region have come together to sponsor the annual Ladies Day event which attracts large crowds every year. The winner of the Best Dressed competition will walk away with a top prize of €2,000, while the nine runners-up will each receive €100.
The theme for this year’s competition is ‘Fourth of July’ which is Independence Day in the United States. Entrants are asked to incorporate some red, white or blue into their outfits or accessories.
Judge Marietta Doran commented “I am really looking forward to judging Ladies Day at Roscommon Races on Monday, July 4th and I hope to see everyone embracing the ‘Fourth of July’ theme. I will be looking for ‘head-to-toe’ glamour, colour and a nod to current summer trends. My choice of Best Dressed Lady will exude confidence, be comfortable in her own skin and look amazing.”

And Padraig Glancy, of SuperValu Carrick on Shannon, County Roscommon, said “Our sponsorship of last year’s SuperValu Ladies Day was a huge success. Fiona Glynn from Ballinasloe, an Assistant Gym Manager and Personal Trainer in Athlone IT was the winner of last year’s Best Dressed Lady competition at Roscommon’s SuperValu Ladies Day, winning the top prize of €2,000 cash.
The seven-race flat card goes to post at approximately 6pm.
