Summerhill Primary School, Athlone, Co Roscommon, celebrated Proclamation Day with a school concert this morning.
This was followed by the flag raising at 12 noon, with a surprise visit from the ice-cream van with ice-cream for all the pupils! After lunch there was a céilí in the school hall and everyone showed off the dances they have been learning for the past few weeks. Everyone looked great, all dressed in green, and the sun was shining for the day, which added to the enjoyment!
