Mixed fortunes for U12 Teams
Kilbride u12’s suffered their first league defeat by the narrowest of margins in Frenchpark on Saturday the 29th of April in the Division two league. This was an excellent game despite very windy conditions. At half time western Gaels led by 7 – 8 and ran out winners by 14 – 13. Brian Keegan had an excellent game between the posts standing in for Sean Allen who was unavailable for selection. In defence Eoin McLoughlin and Dean Mulligan worked tirelessly as did Karl Cummins and Ryan Dowling who had a man of the match performance in the centre of the park. Up front David Brennan excelled. There was no shame in this defeat as it could have went anyway. Team. Brian Keegan Dean Mulligan Noah Kelly Izidro Ribas Eoin McLoughlin Lorcan Rudden Karl Cummins Ryan Dowling David Brennan Joseph O’Connor and Conor Fannon. Subs. Dara Kedian for Lorcan Rudden. Mark Kedian for Joseph O’Connor. Elliot Grealy Sean Cooney Aidan Carroll and Aaron Bracken.
Revenge was sweet when Western Gaels played our U12 Division 6 side who ran out clear winners on a 19 – 7 score line. This was an excellent result with some excellent football played by Kilbride. It would be impossible to nominate a man of the match such was the team effort by all. Elliot Grealy was superb in attack scoring 8 times as did Cian Moran. The defence were superb with Sean Allen between the posts protected by a defence made up of Joshua McCormack Izidro Ribas Aaron Bracken and Aidan Gormely. Conor Fannon and Jack Campbell had the upper hand in the middle as did Sean Cooney Elliot Grealy Cian Moran and Aidan Carroll up front. Well done to all concerned.
The Division 2 U12’s got back to winning ways last Friday in Orchard Park with a comprehensive win against Elphin/Ballinameen on a scoreline of 9 – 3. Again excellent defending was the key to this win with Izidro Ribas having a man of the match performance. Sean Allen was solid in goals as was the defence made up of Izidro Ribas Dean Mulligan Lorcan Rudden and Eoin McLoughlin. The midfield pairing of Karl Cummins and Noah Kelly had the upper hand with Cummins covering every blade of grass on the park. Ryan Dowling was incredible up front with David Brennan Brian Keegan and Joseph O’Connor ably assisting. Conor Fannon, Mark and Dara Kedian entered the fray in the second half and put in good performances.
Well done to all and a big THANK you to all who washed bibs and jerseys.
