Senator Frank Feighan has welcomed funding approval for refurbishment and conversion works at Coláiste Chiaráin, the new secondary school in Summerhill, which will see the amalgamation of St. Aloysius College and St. Joseph’s College.
“I am delighted this funding has been sanctioned by the School Building Unit at the Department of Education. This allocation will allow the completion of works, which will facilitate the amalgamation of these two South Roscommon schools.
“It is important to note that no details are given in relation to the amount of the grant-aid approved as the publication of the level of funding could prejudice the tendering process.
“The new Colaiste Chiarain School in Summerhill is due to open its doors from September next and I wish all the stakeholders, including students, the very best for this new venture.”
