Senator Frank Feighan has received confirmation from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport that free advice workshops to assist clubs and organisations interested in making an application under the 2017 Sports Capital Grant scheme will be held.
“I have confirmed that the two nearest regional workshops will take place at the Athlone Institute of Technology on Tuesday, February 7th from 7 to 9 pm while another workshop will take place at the Sligo Regional Sports Centre on Monday, February 13th , also from 7 to 9pm.
“In partnership with local Sports Partnerships, the Department is organising these workshops to assist and guide those completing their applications for a Sports Capital Grant. These workshops will provide a very good opportunity for clubs and organisations to avail of free expert advice.
“It is important to remember that you must a book a place on these workshops. “Once the booking is made, you will receive a booking confirmation email and you should bring this with you to the event.
“Further details on the 2017 Sports Capital Grant Programme can be accessed at www.sportscapitalprogramme.ie and from next Monday, January 23rd, the Department will be accepting completed applications.
“The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday, February 24th but you must register online first to apply if you have not done so. The deadline for registration is 5pm on Friday, February 10th.
“This year, €30m is available to develop sports infrastructure around the country and I want to see local clubs and organisations benefit as much as possible from this funding.”
