National League preparations continue
Our Intermediate Team, now under the stewardship of ex county star Michael Finneran, begin their season with a very attractive friendly against Clare on Sunday next, January 15th in Clann na nGael’s grounds, Johnstown at 2pm. Please come along and support the girls.
They begin their quest for National League honours on January 29th with an away fixture against Offaly. Then they face Tipperary at home on February the 5th. Then it’s away to Meath on the 19th February, home to Down on the 25th February, next up is two away fixtures to Leitrim on the 18th March and Limerick on the 26th March, before finally wrapping up the group by facing Wexford at home on the 2nd April. More details will follow closer to each game.
Church Gate Collection
Another remainder to all clubs that the annual Roscommon Ladies Football Church Gate Collection takes place on the weekend of 21st and 22nd January 2017. Posters can be collected from county executive.
Roscommon Ladies Football Underage Trials
Just a final word on the county trials take came to an end recently. A big thank you to all the clubs who put in a real effort in sending girls forward for trialling ensuring that the best possible talent is available to the managers for the year ahead. To the girls that attended, of course well done. Remember it’s a tremendous honour to be asked to trial out for your county so if you’re not quiet lucky enough to make the final panels remember to take great pleasure and confidence in the fact that you were recommended. Those who are lucky enough to make it will be notified shortly.
Courses
The first of the county board led courses and seminars begin next courses, dates are listed below, please note that places are limited on these so early booking is advisable.
January 16th – Level 2 refereeing course in Hannon’s hotel.
January 22nd – Fundamentals course in Ballymoe Roscommon for all coaches.
February 6th – Club mentor workshop also in Ballymoe Roscommon for all coaches and club officials,
February 11th and 12th – Grab your whistle level 1. In Hannon’s hotel Roscommon.
