The Roscommon GAA Senior and Under 21 Football teams are both in competitive action this weekend.
Fresh from two Charity Challenge games in recent weeks – which Manager Kevin McStay described “a great workout” the Senior Footballers play their first competitive game this Sunday when they take on IT Sligo in Boyle at 2pm.
The team has just been announced and features a raft of personnel and positional changes from last Monday’s defeat to Kildare:

The IT Sligo squad includes Fuerty’s Philip Neilan.
An experimental Under 21 Football team was defeated by Cavan in the Hastings Cup last Monday. Tomorrow (Saturday) they host Westmeath in Round 2 at 2pm in Kiltoom. Check out our report from both of last Monday’s games here.
The Senior Hurlers are continuing their Allianz League preparations with a series of challenge games.
Meanwhile the Roscommon Intermediate Ladies will begin their season with a challenge against Clare on Sunday January 15th in Clann na nGael’s Grounds, Johnstown. Throw-in is set for 2pm. Their first competitive game is on January 29th with an away fixture against Offaly.
