The Counties of Roscommon, Cavan, Leitrim and Longford are set to showcase the vibrant and growing economy and job opportunities in the region at an event in Croke Park this Thursday.
- Minister Heather Humphreys to open free event with over 50 stands and mini seminars
- Leading businesses seek to attract young people back to the region
- Hundreds of jobs to be filled in next 12 months
The event will attract jobseekers, investors, entrepreneurs and decision makers. It will highlight the stories of some of the most successful businesses already operating here and demonstrate the advantages that the region can offer.
This free expo will be launched by Minister Heather Humphreys and will hear from some major organisations such as Centre Parcs, Vistamed, Abbot Diagnostics and Cora Systems. It marks a significant move on behalf of the four counties and is led by the Local Authorities in each county.
Eugene Cummins, Chief Executive of Roscommon County Council said:
‘The message is quite simple. This region is open for business and has huge growth potential. Working together as four counties we can offer a unique development base for companies. We need to stand up and bring our message to the market and I know our diaspora will help us do that. This is a great chance to look at the wider potential opportunities for investment in the Upper Shannon Erne Region and to meet with businesses operating successfully here. Medical Devices/Pharma, Global Services, Tourism and Food are just some of the topics for discussion on the day. It will give a valuable networking opportunity to meet companies currently hiring and to discuss your business ideas and supports available with agencies.’
Range of jobs
The diverse range of local SME’s recruiting on the 3rd of November in Croke Park demonstrates the opportunities for skilled and talented people to work in these four counties. Brendan Allen of Castlemine Farm in Roscommon gave his reasons as to why those who left in the last number of years have a real reason to return, to live and contribute in their home counties, and highlighted the genuine career progression opportunities that come with this region:
“This is a growing region. Employees value a better quality of life, access to the best of schools, strong communities and affordable housing. The jobs on offer are of a high quality with significant career opportunities. There is much to look forward to and we want to welcome people back to the region with offers of firm and stable employment. Being part of Invest4Success allows us to reach out to a wider audience and show them just what we have to offer. We want to attract and retain the best staff and this provides the perfect launching pad.”
November 3rd marks a major step in providing recognition that this region is open for business and ready for further development.
