Seamus Duke, who recently held a sucessful fundraiser for Mayo Roscommon Hospice and Roscommon Palliative Care services wishes to thank all who assisted and contributed.
Dear Editor
A few words of thanks following the very successful fund-raiser that we held for the Mayo/Roscommon Hospice and Roscommon Palliative Care services at Jack’s Live Venue on Friday October the 14th. I have handed over a sum of €4,728 to the hospice people which is a magnificent figure and an indication of the generosity of the people who supported the event. I am hopeful that the final figure will be higher as some more money has to come in yet. I will be holding a cheque presentation when I have the final figure and everyone will be welcome to attend.
I want to publicly thank The Rockin Rossies (Cathal McGowan, Deckie Walsh, Kevin Noone, Bill Haugh and Vincent Collins) who gave freely of their time and who were excellent and also to Avril Gilligan who travelled from Dublin and was was superb (a star for the future!). Thanks to Larry O’Gara and family for the use of their venue. I also want to thank Teresa and Mary who did the door. I also appreciate the co-operation of the local media who gave the event great publicity. Thanks to all those who sold tickets and to everyone who came on the night. If I left anyone else out then my sincere apologies.
This is a fantastic charity which helps so many families when they are at their most vulnerable and I hope our efforts go in some small way to help to fund their essential service.
Thanking You
Seamus Duke
