Roscommon’s Daire Feeley has been named in the Cycling Ireland team to compete in the 2016 UEC Road European Championships which take place in France.
The event runs from tomorrow, September 14 to Sunday September 18th in Plumelec, Morbihan and Bretagne.
The team is a combination of Juniors, U23 and Elite Mens and Ladies Cyclists who will compete in Time Trials and Road Races.
Daire Feeley is one of five Under 23 Men on the team, which also included Eddie Dunbar, Michael O’Loughlin, Mark Downey and Matthew Teggart. The Under 23 25km Time Trial takes place tomorrow afternoon and on Saturday morning they will compete in the 150km Road Race.
Daire has been in fine form this season. He finished 25th in his first appearance in the An Post Rás. He finished 2nd in the Overall Irish County Rider Classification and was 7th in the Under 23 Competition. Daire was selected on the six man Irish Teams for the Philadelphia International Cycling Classic in June.
