The Office of Public Works are hosting a number of local events to promote the consultation of the Draft Flood Risk Management Plans (Draft FRMPs) for County Roscommon.

On Tuesday next, September 6th, Áras an Chontae, Carrick on Shannon will showcase the plans for Cortober, as well as Carrick on Shannon and South Leitrim, from 2pm to 7:30pm.
On Wednesday next, September 7th, consultants will be available at the Crofton Suite of the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon town (note change of venue) and in the Athleague Community Centre. Both events will run between 2pm and 7.30pm. The public can examine the plans for the Roscommon town, Athlone, Athleague and Castlerea areas at either event.
The Draft Plans are available from Áras an Chontae, Roscommon town and from the Roscommon County Council office in Boyle, They can also be viewed on the OPW Website
The first public event, showcasing plans for Roscommon and Westmeath, was held at the Athlone Civic Centre on August 23rd. Farmers protested over the action on the issue of Flood Management and defence.
Earlier this week further €67,500 was allocated to four Flood Risk Management projects throughout Roscommon. It comes on top of €200,000 was allocated to six projects a number of weeks ago
