Roscommon LEADER to host Training event for Charities and Community Groups

Roscommon LEADER

Roscommon LEADER Partnership is hosting an important event for Charities and Community Groups which will cover both Garda Vetting and Charities Regulatory Training.

Roscommon LEADER Partnership wish to take this opportunity to remind Charities and Community Groups that Garda Vetting is legally mandatory for everyone who works or volunteers with children and vulnerable adults. The session will begin with a short presentation which will give an overview of the Garda Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Act. It will provide information on the steps community groups should take to ensure they are compliant. Information will also be given on the “E-Vetting” system and give tips on avoiding delays and problems.

The second phase of the three hour event will take the form of a training session and will focus on the Key Requirements for Community Groups with charitable status who fundraise and aren’t sure what they need to do to be compliant under the Charities Act.

The event will take place from 2-5pm on Thursday May 25th in the Roscommon Leader Partnership Office, Golf Links Road, Roscommon Town.
The training is free, but places are limited. To book your place, contact Bridie on 094 9862565 or email [email protected] or Linda on 090 6630252 or email [email protected]
