Ladies Progress To League Final
Our Adult Ladies team qualified for the League Division 3 Finals, with a 4-14 to 1-5 win over Shannon Geals on Sunday. The teams were evenly matched in the first half, but a well finished goal by Amy Cousins on the stroke of half time gave St Barry’s a six point lead. This seemed to knock the life out of the Gaels team, and the Barry’s hit some good scores into a strong wind in the second half.
The girls have had a positive league campaign so far.
After losing their first game, they have subsequently won the remaining four games, and have qualified to play the same opposition in the league final next Sunday at 2.30 in Kilbride.

Intermediate Championship: St Barrys 1-5 St Michaels 1-5
St Barrys played out a disappointing draw against St Michael’s in the Intermediate Championship on Sunday. In a game lacking any championship intensity, St Barrys had the better of things for long periods, but failed to make their dominance count on the scoreboard. A string of missed chances was a feature of the first half as St Barry’s faced a strong wind, and we trailed 4-2 at the break. Early scores after half time levelled the game, and St Barry’s looked in the box seat when Trevor Murtagh finished a good move to the net on 50 minutes. However, we failed to build on the lead, and inevitably St Michael’s punished us. In injury time, a desperate long ball was well won and finished to the roof of the net by the Michael’s full forward to earn the Cootehall men the draw.

Good Weekend for Under 12s
The boys/mixed team maintained their recent good run when they beat St Dominics on Saturday morning on a scoreline of 15 points to 11.
The last game of the weekend probably gave us the result of the weekend too, as our Under 12 Girls made the long trek to Kiltoom, and came back with a 2 point win over their hosts St. Brigids.
Well done to both teams!
