Four Roads Ladies Football Club has had a busy few weeks on the football side.
U12
The girls have been playing in the inter club blitz and all girls have gotten game time and this has helped to improve their footballing skills. The championship season has commenced and the girls travelled to St Dominics on Sunday evening last. Unfortunately despite some great play they were beaten on the day.
They are due to play Elphin/Kilmore next weekend, details to be confirmed.
U14
The girls are due to start their league campaign against St Croans on Wednesday evening at 7:00 in Four Roads.
U16
The girls have been involved in a league competition and this has helped to improve their skills, and to give them additional games. It has been a great success and we would like to thank the girls for their time and commitment; and to the parents for their support also.
Junior
The girls have played two matches over the past number of weeks – they were beaten by a stronger St Mary’s side in the first game and achieved a draw in their game against Kilmore. Training continues on Thursday evenings at 8:00 in Four Roads. Their next game is against Castlerea on Sunday in Four Roads at 12pm.
Thank you
We would like to thank everyone who supported our annual Easter cake sale and cake competition. There were loads of lovely items on display on the day and we would like to congratulate Mairead Lohan and Saoirse Gacquin on winning the competition. We would like to thank Niamh Mannion for judging the competition on the day. Check out our Facebook page for pictures on the day.
Congratulations
We would like to congratulate the girls and boys who took part in the All Ireland Community Games finals at the weekend and on winning bronze.
Best wishes
To Oonagh Kelly and Aisling Treacy who are both playing with the county U16 and U14 teams this year.
We would like to wish the U14 camoige team good luck in the Feile final replay next Monday against St Dominics.
