IFA Deputy President Richard Kennedy has reminded farmers that the deadline for 2017 Basic Payment Scheme applications is next Monday, May 15th.
Mr. Kennedy urged all farmers to ensure they get their applications in on time. The IFA is encouraging farmers to make online applications in order to benefit from the many advantages in terms of early processing, reduced errors and on-time payment within the deadlines set down in the Charter of Farmers’ Rights.
Richard Kennedy pointed out that the benefits of using the online system are considerable and include earlier application date, pre-checking, instant confirmation of receipt of application, reduced application errors and greater accuracy, maps online, text alert from the Department, payment on time within deadlines and linkages to other schemes.
More than 100,000 farmers have so far submitted a 2017 Basic Payment Scheme application.
