Men’s Round-up

Our men’s team suffered a disappointing defeat at the hand of Shannon Gaels on Sunday in Elphin on so scoreline of 4-13 to 1-15. Next up is St Dominic’s in Knockcroghery on Saturday at 7.15pm. Your support would be appreciated.

Our U14’s recorded their first win in the league with a comprehensive win over Castlerea in O’Rourke Thursday, It ended Castlerea 4-01 Kilbride 10-13.

The lads take on Elphin on Tuesday in Kilbride at 7pm and this is followed by another home game against St Donminic’s on Thursday at 7pm.

Ladies Round-up

Well done to our Senior ladies who had a comprehensive win in the league on Sunday morning when they played Kilglass. Final score Kilbride 6-08 Kilglass Gaels 1-05. Their last game is the league against Clan na nGael takes place next weekend , time and date tbc.

Unfortunately our Junior ladies were unable to field against St. Marys on Sunday morning and had to give a walkover .

Hard luck to our U 16 girls who lost the Division 2A final last Monday against Castlerea. Kilbride trailed 1-08 to 0-04 at the break but were unlucky with some goal chances . A very exciting second half saw Kilbride make their way back into contention and notched up some superb scores . However Castlerea managed the hold out and win the game on a scoreline of 3-11 to 3-07 .

A big thank you to Kevin, Ray, Joan and Marie for all their work with this team over the last few months. Also thanks to the parents for bringing the girls to training and matches and thanks to all who travelled to support the team at the Final .

Our U 14 girls travelled to Ballinlough to play their first game in the summer league last Wednesday evening . They had a comprehensive win so well done to all . Theirr league campaign begins on Wednesday evening with ahome game against padraig Pearses at 7 p.m. Best of luck to Johnny ,Cole Laura, Rochelle, Alice and Joan and all the team as they begin their competitive season .

Our U 12 girls played a friendly game against Roscommon Gaels last Wednesday evening which was good preparation for their first championship game on Sunday morning . Captain was Zara Doyle . The girls met St Faithleachs on Sunday morningand despite putting in an excellent performance and getting some great points they lost the game 4-04 to 0-10. Captain was Ashling Cronin.

Next game is fixed for next Sunday evening against St.Dominics in Kilbride at 6 p.m and traing takes place on Tuesday from 6 to 7 .

Training for U 10 , U 8 and U 6 commenced on Monday 8th May and will continue every Monday at this time for the next few months . Gum shields are compulsory and bring a drink .

Congrats to Fiona Tully who added yet more silverware to her collection when she won the 19 and under National title recently .
