Adult Football League Division 1: St Brigids 0-14, Strokestown 2-20.
Strokestown had a comprehensive victory over St. Brigid’s on Saturday night last in Kiltoom, following a master class of football by Colin Compton scoring 2-8 out of the 2-20. This was a tight game all through the first half with just a point between them at half time St Brigids 0-11, Strokestown 0-10. The second half looked like it was going to be more of the same until three sendings off including two for St. Brigid’s midfielders. Strokestown were able to capitalise on this and pushed ahead with no real response from St Brigids.

U12 Boys
Our Division 1 team had a home match on Saturday against Clan na Gael. This was a very entertaining game played with great spirit and determination by both teams. The sides were level at half time and much of the second period remained evenly contested, but Clan finished a little stronger with a few late scores. While the lads will be disappointed with the result, it was very encouraging to see the boys kicking with both feet and a good attitude was shown throughout.
Squad: Conal Benton,Killian Curley, Niall Derwin, Robert Keenan, Ryan Lawless, Bryan McDermott, Cormac Meeley, Sean Minnock, Brendan Murphy, Charlie O’Carroll, Leo O’Connell, James O’Rourke, Andrew Sheffield and Oisin Tiernan.
At the same time the Division 5 team side was in action against Padraig Pearse’s in Woodmount. The lads more than matched a physically bigger and more experienced Pearse’s side for determination and skill. Following a tremendous second half fight back, St Brigids got back on level terms. However an injury time free gave the spoils to the home side
Squad: M. Henehan, J. Fox, F. Kilcommins, J. Tully, L. Tully, O. Feeley, A Feeley, J. Kinahan, B. Ferry, C. Ferry, R. Trundle.
U14 Boys Division 4: St.Croans 2-5 St Brigids 2-16
Our Div 4 team recorded another league victory on Thursday evening with a good away win against St.Croans. We started off on the attack and notched up a few good points from play, before Croans replied. We conceded a very soft goal followed by a point to leave the game level. Luke Murphy and James Goose then took control at midfield and we added 5 more points, with Paddy Higgins, James O’Rourke, Eoin Reid and Luke Whelan causing huge problems for the Croans defence. Half time score was 0-9 to 1-2. The second half resumed with our lads in the ascendancy and Huguie Cunniffe added 2 great goals to open up a commanding lead. Croans to their credit kept working the scoreboard and added a further 1-3 to keep the game alive, but further points from Luke Whelan, Brian Armstrong, James and Paddy ensured that we came away with two valuable league points. In addition to the players mentioned above, Harry Griselan (with some superb fielding) and Oran Benton defended brilliantly throughout the game. Brian Gonley and Daniel Skene provided plenty of good ball into the forwards at every opportunity and Alex O’Donoghue had a hand in a number of scores, particularly in the second half.
Team: M.Sammuals, H.Griselan, O.Benton, B.Gonley, L.Murphy 0-1,B.Armstrong 0-1, J.Goose 0-1,D.Skene, J.O’Rourke 0-7, P.Higgins 0-4, E.Reid , A.O’Donoghue, H.Cunniffe 2-0, L.Whelan 0-2.
